Globe valves are primarily used as control valves where throttling or both throttling and shut-off are required. They can also be used for on-off service, although due to their design, a pressure drop is inherent when the valve is open. This is generally acceptable in applications where the valve is normally closed and the pressure drop is not a concern. Globe valves are uni-directional, and in normal applications, the flow and pressure are positioned under the disc. Our GLT cast steel globe valves are typically designed with an outside screw and yoke, featuring full ports and heavy-duty type discs to ensure robust performance.
