A globe valve, distinct from a ball valve, is specifically engineered for regulating flow within pipelines. It features a movable disk-type element and a stationary ring seat within a generally spherical body. The spherical shape is divided by an internal baffle with an opening, creating a seat for the movable plug that screws in to close the valve. This plug, also known as a disc or disk, is connected to a stem operated by screw action via a handwheel in manual valves. Automated globe valves utilize smooth stems for operation by an actuator assembly.

- BODY.The body is crafted from forged steel and adheres to the basic dimensional requirements of specifications such as API 602 and ASME B16.34. It is available in both full or conventional port designs and can be configured in either T-pattern or Y-pattern.
- BONNET.The bonnet, also made of forged steel, has an integral backseat and includes the stuffing box with dimensions per API 602 specifications.
- BODY-BONNET JOINT. Two distinct bonnet joint designs are offered: bolted bonnet or the threaded and seal welded type.
- GASKET.The bolted bonnet joint design utilizes a contained, controlled compression, spiral wound type gasket for optimum sealing performance.
- BONNET BOLTING.Bonnet bolting is constructed from alloy steel, conforming to specifications such as API 602 and ASME B16.34.
- SEAT.The body seat features an integral weld overlay, forming part of the valve trim for enhanced durability and performance.
- DISC.The disc, made from forged steel, is an essential component of the valve trim. It features a tapered or plug-type seating surface and is connected to the stem using a loose or swivel disc arrangement.
- STEM. The stem, masterfully crafted from forged steel, is an integral part of the valve trim. Featuring an integral back seat shoulder, it seamlessly mates with the bonnet's backseat. Designed to meet the precise dimensional requirements of standards like API 602, this stem epitomizes engineering excellence.
- GLAND AND FLANGE. The gland and gland flange assembly boast a separate, two-piece design. This self-aligning feature allows for uneven tightening of the flange while maintaining the gland's parallel alignment with the stem and stuffing box, ensuring optimal performance.
- GLAND BOLTS AND NUTS. The robust steel/stainless steel gland bolt and nut assembly features a stud, double nut arrangement. This design facilitates complete removal from the valve when servicing is required. Utilizing industry-standard thread full-length studs and nuts, it ensures easy replacement, minimizing downtime.
- YOKE SLEEVE. The yoke sleeve, forged from high-quality stainless steel, boasts a high melting point and exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion, ensuring long-lasting durability.
- HANDWHEEL. The handwheel, meticulously forged from carbon steel, features an open spoke design. This robust construction and appropriate sizing guarantee ease of operation and reliability.
